Control
Operators monitor the repeater and repeater traffic to ensure
that the machine is operated in accordance with Federal Communications
Commission Telecommunications Rules - specifically, Title
47 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), Parts 95 and 97.
A
Control Operator is obligated to shut down the repeater in
the event of rules violation or abuse.
Control
Operators also monitor for possible emergency traffic, and,
if near a landline, can pass traffic to various public agencies
(police, sheriff, fire, etc.). Call in your emergency traffic!
